Pennfield Senior High School

High school winter sports tryouts will begin on November 9th for bowling and competitive cheer, and November 11th for boys basketball. The high school wrestling season begins on November 16th, and girls basketball tryouts on November 18th. Practices for the boys swim co-op with Battle Creek Central at the BC Natatorium begin on November 23rd. Schedules will be posted as they are available. Students interested in participating in any of these sports must obtain a winter sports registration card. The athletic office will begin issuing winter sport cards, before school, after school and during lunch. Please do not come to the athletic office between classes or during passing time. To obtain a winter sports card, all winter sports participants will need meet the Pennfield Schools and MHSAA academic requirements, and turn in the following forms to the athletic office prior to any participation in practices or tryouts: (All of these forms are available in the Athletic Office and online @ pennfieldathletics.com and are also attached) - A MHSAA athletic physical exam form on file with the Athletic Office with an exam date of April 15, 2026 or later with all required signatures - Athletic Training Rules & Statement of Understanding form signed by both the student-athlete and parent/guardian - Completed Concussion Awareness form signed by both the student-athlete and parent/guardian - The Pennfield Athletic Participation Release form signed by a parent/guardian - The Pennfield Schools and the MHSAA academic requirements must be met for all winter sports participants to be eligible for participation. The first quarter grades of 2026-27 are used to determine academic eligibility for the winter season. Parents do not have to be present during the registration process as long as all forms are completed and signed in advance. Each high school student-athlete will need obtain a winter sports registration card to give to the coach before they may participate in any team practice or tryout. Athletic registration cards will only be issued before school, after school and during lunch.
