Girls Varsity Basketball · Varsity Girls’ Basketball Drops Overtime Heart Breaker to Harper Creek

The Pennfield High School varsity girls’ basketball team traveled to Harper Creek on Saturday afternoon for another I-8 conference contest.  The Lady Panthers fell in overtime by the score of 43-39.  Senior, point guard, Abby Schwartz forced the extra session by hitting a clutch three point field goal with just under :03 seconds left in the fourth quarter to tie the game.   However, the host Beavers scored the first 8 points of the overtime and then held on for the victory.

Sophomore, Kaylee Glidden led Pennfield in scoring with 18 points and she also pulled down 5 rebounds.  Abby Schwartz added 11 points, 9 assists, and 4 steals on the day.  Senior, Sadie Drawhorn contributed 6 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals.  With this setback the Lady Panthers fell to 1-5 overall and 0-5 in the I-8.

The varsity girls basketball team will return to action on Tuesday, February 23rd when they host I-8 rival Coldwater High School.  Game time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
