The official start to the MHSAA winter season for all contact sports will begin this week. These sports include basketball, wrestling and competitive cheer here at Pennfield High School. Non contact sports competitions in the sports of bowling and boys’ swim & dive have been underway since the week of January 25th.
The MDHHS has given the guidance that only two spectators per participant will be allowed to attend athletic contests at this time. For home events at both Pennfield High School and Pennfield Middle School tickets will be able to be purchased at the door. A maximum of two guests per participant will be allowed attendance at any given contest. Tickets are $5 per person for all ages at all high school events and $3 for adults and $2 for a student at middle school events. No passes are being accepted this year due to the strict Covid-19 restrictions.
When spectators come to events at Pennfield Schools, they will be required to sign in next to the name of the participant they are coming to watch when they purchase a ticket. This will be required for all spectators both home team and visitors. On dates where there are multiple events, like a basketball doubleheader for example, we will ask the spectators for the first contest to exit as quickly as possible after the conclusion of the game. This will allow us to sanitize the spectator seating area prior to our next contest. We ask spectators coming to the second game of a doubleheader or the third game of a triple header to only come for that game as we need to limit the number of spectators for safety purposes.
Some of our other I-8 schools and non-conference opponents may be using a different ticket purchasing process. We are working on this process school by school, so we can have that information for spectators as soon as possible.
Please contact the athletic office at Pennfield High School (269) 961-9777 if you have specific questions in this regard.
