Girls Varsity Volleyball · Varsity Volleyball Defeats Harper Creek

The Pennfield High School varsity volleyball team traveled across town last night to battle their Interstate 8 Athletic Conference rivals from Harper Creek High School.  In a back and forth match, the Panthers prevailed 3-2.

Pennfield won the first two games to take a commanding lead in the match, however, the Beavers came back to win games three and four to even the match.  In the deciding fifth game, Pennfield trailed 13-9 before running off the final 6 points of the set to win 15-13 and take the match.  The Panthers improved to 5-1 in league matches.

The varsity volleyball team will return to action on Saturday, October 17th when they travel to Battle Creek Central High School for a City tri-match against Lakeview High School and St. Philip High School.  The first match is scheduled for an 8:00am start.  This was originally scheduled to be the All-City tournament but due to COVID-19 protocols and restrictions this has become two separate tri-matches.  Tickets will not be available to the general public due to capacity restrictions.  Each participant will be allowed two guests to attend this event.
