Panthers News · Varsity Tennis Defeats Hillsdale


The Pennfield High School varsity boys’ tennis team traveled to Hillsdale High School yesterday afternoon and defeated the host Hornets by the score of 5-2.  With the victory the Panthers improve to 4-7-1 in dual matches this season.

Pennfield earned victories in three singles matches.  Number one singles player, senior, Cameron Reichel won 4-6; 6-4; 10-4, number two singles player, senior, Gavin Liggett won 6-0; 6-3 and number three singles player, sophomore, Shane Carpenter won 2-6; 6-1; 12-10.  In doubles action, the #3 doubles team of senior, Jayden Wirtz and sophomore, Caiden Bradley won their match by the score of 6-3; 6-1.

The varsity tennis team will return to action on Wednesday, October 7th when they travel to Beach Middle School in Chelsea for the MHSAA District tournament.  The matches are scheduled to begin at 11:00am.
