Panthers News · Varsity Competitive Cheer Finished 7th in the MHSAA Regional Competition

The Pennfield High School varsity competitive cheer team traveled to Rockford High School on Saturday evening for the MHSAA Division 3 Regional.  The Lady Panthers finished second in the MHSAA district the week before to qualify for the regionals.  The varsity cheer team performed very well but came up short in their effort to qualify for the State Finals.  They finished 7th out of the 12 teams, with the top four teams moving on to the State Finals on March 6-7.

After the first round on Saturday, Pennfield was in 5th place overall as they scored a 220.3.  In round two, the Lady Panthers scored a 193.16 and dropped to 6th place in the standings with one round remaining.   In round three, Pennfield scored 282.4 to finish in 7th position.

The varsity competitive cheer team finished their season as I-8 champions for the second consecutive season.  They also qualified for the MHSAA regional competition for the third straight year.  Congratulations to Coach Kristin Tucker and her varsity cheer team on a great season!
