Panthers News · Varsity Boys’ Basketball Defeats Redhawks


The Pennfield High School varsity boys’ basketball team hosted I-8 rival Marshall High School on Friday night and defeated the Redhawks 52-42.  The Panthers recorded their fourth consecutive victory and improved to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the Interstate 8.

Pennfield led 23-11 at halftime and extended their lead to 34-21 after three quarters.  The Panthers withstood a furious Marshall comeback that saw the visitors pull within two points midway through the fourth quarter, before pulling away in the last two minutes of the game.

Pennfield was led by sophomore, guard Luke Davis who scored a game high 20 points.  Junior, guard Ryne Petersen had a solid all around performance adding 13 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

The varsity boys’ basketball team will be back in action on Tuesday, January 14th when they travel across town to play arch-rival Harper Creek.  The varsity contest is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm.
