The Pennfield High School varsity boys’ basketball team defeated non-conference opponent Charlotte High School last night at Pennfield by the score of 63-51. The Panthers improved to 4-1 overall on the season.
Pennfield led 21-11 after the first quarter and maintained a 30-23 lead at halftime. They increased their lead to 46-34 after the third quarter and maintained control of the contest throughout the fourth quarter. The Panthers had three players reach double figures in scoring, led by junior, Ryne Petersen with 16 points. Sophomore, Luke Davis added 13 points and six assists. Junior, forward Shawn Gardner contributed 10 points and eight rebounds.
The varsity boys’ basketball team will be back in action on Friday night, when they host I-8 conference rival Marshall High School. Game time is scheduled for 7:30pm.
