The Pennfield Schools athletic department has announced the following schedule changes this week due to the Calhoun County wide effort to reduce the risk of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).
Tuesday – September 24th – The varsity boys’ soccer game at home with Northwest has been moved to a 5:00pm starting time.
Wednesday – September 25th – The 7th grade Rocket football game has been moved to Lumen Christi High School at 4:30pm. The 8th grade contest will remain at Pennfield High School but will also begin at 4:30pm.
Thursday – September 26th – The JV and varsity boys’ soccer games at Hastings High School have been moved to 3:30/5:00pm starting times respectively.
Thursday – September 26th – The freshman football game has been moved to Harper Creek High School at 4:30pm. The JV football game will remain at Pennfield High School but will also begin at 4:30pm.
Friday -September 27th – The boys and girls cross country dual meet at Harper Creek High School has been changed to a 3:45pm start time.
Friday – September 27th – The varsity football game at Harper Creek High School will begin at 4:30pm.
All twelve superintendents in the Calhoun Intermediate School District (CISD) have agreed to make scheduling changes, to the extent possible, for outdoor activities that occur during dusk to dawn hours (7:00pm to 7:00am). All outdoor events are expected to conclude by 7:00pm. It is suggested that these precautionary measures continue until the first hard frost decreases the mosquito population in Calhoun County.
