Panthers News · Summer Workouts Can Begin on June 3rd ….

The Pennfield High School athletic programs can begin their respective summer workouts on June 3rd.  The MHSAA allows summer workouts to begin on the Monday after the Labor Day holiday.  This year that date is Monday, June 3, 2019.

Any current registered Pennfield School district student going into grades 9-12 next academic year can participate as long as they meet the academic and paperwork requirements.   Any individual who is planning to participate in any summer athletic workouts must have a current MHSAA physical on file in the athletic office prior to any participation.  If a student participated in any Pennfield High School or Middle School athletic teams during the 2018-19 academic year, a current physical should be on file already.  New physicals will be required for all 2019-20 student-athletes beginning on August 1, 2019.

The district academic requirements remain in place for summer activities.  Any student choosing to participate in any athletic program must have passed at least 5 of their academic classes in the third card-marking and be passing at least 5 classes in the current card-marking to be eligible to participate in school athletics.  Final semester grades will not be available until later in June to determine academic eligibility for the upcoming school year.
