Panthers News · Varsity Boys’ Basketball Falls to Western

The Pennfield High School varsity boys’ basketball team welcomed league co-leader Western High School to Pennfield last night in a key second round I-8 match up.  Pennfield was looking to avenge a loss from earlier in the season at Western.  The host Panthers led 9-6 after the first quarter and 23-21 at the half.  They extended the lead to 33-29 after three quarters, only to see the visiting Panthers come from behind to secure a hard fought victory 49-46.  Pennfield falls to 7-6 overall and 5-4 in the I-8.

The Panthers were led in scoring by freshman, Luke Davis with 16 points.  Sophomores, Ryne Petersen and Shawn Gardner added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively.  Senior, Kyle Liggett contributed 8 points.
