Panthers News · Varsity Girls’ Bowling Team Captures the Sturgis Invitational Crown

The Pennfield High School varsity girls’ bowling team traveled to the Sturgis Invitational last weekend and captured the tournament championship defeating Coloma High School in the finals.  The Lady Panthers entered the week as the #2 ranked team in the state in Division II.

The Lady Panthers qualified for match play as the #2 seed as the top four teams advanced.  In the semi-final match they defeated Onsted High School and in the championship round they beat Coloma, who entered the weekend as the #1 ranked team in Division III.

Leading the way for Pennfield was senior, Haley Hooper with a high game of 234.  Seniors, Makayla Skidmore and Kelsey Kipp had respective games of 212 and 201 and junior, Steffanie Woodman bowled a 180.  Haley Hooper was named to the all tournament team.
