Panthers News · Varsity Girls’ Basketball Defeats Lakewood

The Pennfield High School varsity girls’ basketball team hosted non-conference opponent Lakewood High School last night and defeated the Vikings by the score of 53-32.  The victory improves the Lady Panthers overall record to 2-9.

Pennfield led the entire game including 13-9 after the first quarter.  They extended their lead to 31-17 at halftime and 44-29 after three quarters on their way to the win.

Leading the way for the Lady Panthers was senior, Alicia Lake who had 17 points and 18 rebounds.  Fellow senior, Ayanna Gauna also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.  Sophomore, Milani Taylor-Bacon also had 12 rebounds.

The varsity girls basketball team will be back in action on Tuesday, February 5th when they host I-8 rival Western High School in a make-up game that was postponed last week.  Game time is scheduled for 5:30pm.
