Panthers News · Varsity Boys’ Basketball Defeats Lakewood


The Pennfield High School varsity boys’ basketball team traveled to Lakewood High School on Monday night for a non-conference contest.  The Panthers defeated the host Vikings by the score of 67-45 to improve to 7-5 overall on the season.

Pennfield was led by sophomore, Ryne Petersen who had a team high 17 points and 5 assists.  Freshmen, Luke Davis added 14 points and 4 assists, while senior, Kyle Liggett contributed 11 points and 8 rebounds.  The Panthers led 12-6 after the first quarter and extended their lead to 31-21 at the half.  They continued to build the lead in the second half, leading 48-30 after the third quarter on their way to the victory.

The varsity boys’ basketball team will be right back in action on Tuesday, February 5th when they host I-8 rival Western High School.  This is a make-up game that was postponed last week.  Game time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
