The Pennfield High School boys and girls varsity bowling teams traveled to the John Glenn Invitational tournament last Saturday and finished in 11th place and 5th place respectively during the qualifying rounds but were both defeated in the first round of match play.
The girls team bowled games of 804, 838, and 808 in the qualifying round. They were led individually by senior, Kelsey Kipp who had games of 216 and 183. Freshman, Hannah Ruoff and senior, Haley Hooper had single games of 192 and 190 respectively.
The boys team bowled games of 941, 808, and 926 during the qualifying round. They were led individually by senior, James Ruoff who had games of 222, 192, and 244. He was named to the all tournament team for his efforts. Sophomore, Carson Dyer and junior, Deven Pierce had individual high games of 192 and 181 respectively.
The varsity bowling teams will be back in action on Wednesday, December 19th when they host Hastings High School at M-66 Bowl. Match time is scheduled for 3:30pm.
