The Pennfield High School varsity baseball team entered the MHSAA district tournament last Saturday at Coldwater High School playing their best baseball of the season and riding a 10 game winning streak. The Panthers opponent was I-8 and cross-town rival Harper Creek High School in the semifinal round. Pennfield played a solid game but fell to the Beavers by the score of 4-3.
Max Jackson pitched a complete game and suffered the hard luck loss. He allowed just four hits and walked two, while striking out four in his final game for the Green and White. Kollin Kemerling led the offensive attack going 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Dawson Butcher, T.J. McClain, and Ryan Vought also had singles for the Panthers.
Pennfield finished the season with an overall record of 19-17.
