The Pennfield High School varsity baseball team traveled to Coldwater High School on Tuesday for a league doubleheader and split a pair of games. In game one, the Panthers were defeated 7-6 in eight innings. In the nightcap, Pennfield prevailed by the score of 4-3.
In the first game, Pennfield was led offensively by Kollin Kemerling who went 2-5 with a home run and T.J. McClain who went 2-3. Dawson Butcher pitched six innings in relief for the Panthers. In the second game, Max Jackson started and pitched into the seventh inning while striking out 8 to pick up the victory. Leading the way offensively was James Ruoff who went 2-3 and T.J. McClain who was 1-3 with an RBI.
The varsity baseball team is now 3-4 overall and 2-2 in I-8 conference play. They will be back in action on Thursday, April 20th when they host Olivet High School for a non-conference doubleheader. The first game is scheduled to begin at 4:00pm.
