Varsity Girls’ Soccer Drops Heart Breaker in District Tournament

The Pennifeld High School varsity soccer team traveled to Lansing Catholic High School on Thursday evening for the MHSAA district semi-final game against the host Cougars and dropped a hard fought match by the score of 1-0.

The game was closely contested and scoreless through the entire first half and well into the second 40 minutes until Lansing Catholic was able to tally a goal with just over six minutes remaining in the game.  The Lady Panthers were not able to get the equalizer and the game ended 1-0.

The varsity girls’ soccer team finished the season with an 11-4-4 overall record and a league record of 4-2-3 which placed them third overall in the I-8 conference.
