Varsity Softball Drops a Pair at Coldwater

The Pennfield High School varsity softball team traveled to I-8 rival Coldwater High School yesterday for a league doubleheader and dropped both contests.  The Lady Panthers lost game one by the score of 4-2 and were defeated in game two by the score of 12-5.

In the first game, Pennfield was led on offense by Paige McIntyre who went 2-3 with a run scored.  Katie Lenz was the starting pitcher and struck out three.  In the nightcap, the Lady Panthers were led offensively by Chelsea Reichel who was 2-3, with a pair of doubles and three RBI and Kaylee Clothier who went 2-4, with a double and two RBI.  Alicia Lake started on the mound and struck out 4.

The varsity softball team is now 1-5 overall and 0-4 in the I-8.  They will be back in action on Thursday, April 20th when they host Olivet High School in a non-league doubleheader. The first game is scheduled to begin at 4:00pm.
