Varsity Boy’s Basketball Defeats Eaton Rapids

The Pennfield High School varsity boy’s basketball team defeated non-conference opponent Eaton Rapids High School on Thursday night by the score of 88-82.  The Panthers win improved their overall regular season to 13-7.  They will begin MHSAA district tournament play next week.

Pennfield was led offensively by Ron Jamierson who had 33 points and 4 assists.  He was followed by Francois Jamierson who had 19 points and 8 rebounds.  Grant Petersen and Deveaire Todd contributed 17 points each.

The Panthers trailed 45-35 at halftime at Eaton Rapids but responded with a big third quarter to seize the lead away from the Greyhounds 65-63 after three periods.  Pennfield led throughout the fourth quarter on the way to the victory.

The varsity boys basketball team will open MHSAA district tournament play on Wednesday, March 8th when they play Comstock High School.  The game will be played at Parchment High School and begin at approximately 7:30pm.
