Varsity Girl’s Basketball Falls in MHSAA District

The Pennfield High School varsity girl’s basketball team was defeated by rival Harper Creek 63-52 on Wednesday night at Comstock High School in the MHSAA district tournament.  The Lady Panthers came out of the gates strong opening up a 15-8 lead after the first quarter but could not sustain that momentum and found themselves trailing 25-21 at the half.  In the second half, Harper Creek slowly widened the gap leading 35-27 after three quarters and pushing their lead to double digits in the final stanza.

Pennfield saw their season come to a close at 13-8 overall were led in scoring by Claire LeRoux with 16 points, she was followed by Rachel Swartz with 14 points.  Alicia Lake had a team high 13 rebounds.
