The Pennfield High School varsity boy’s basketball team traveled to Three Rivers High School on Tuesday evening for a non-conference game against the Wildcats and were defeated 78-74. With the loss the Panthers fall to 12-7 overall on the season.
Pennfield once again had a balanced offensive attack. They were led by Ronald Jamierson’s 20 points and 6 assists. He was joined in double figures by Francois Jamierson with 17 points and 12 rebounds, Deveaire Todd with 15 points and 5 assists, and Grant Petersen with 11 points and 5 rebounds.
The Panthers fell behind in the first half and trailed 41-24 at halftime and 60-47 after the third quarter. They made a valiant effort in the fourth quarter to get back into the game and cut the deficit to 3 points (77-74) with less than 30 seconds to go but could not get any closer before the final buzzer.
Pennfield will be back in action on Thursday, March 2nd when they close out their regular season schedule and travel to Eaton Rapids High School. Game time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
