The varsity boys basketball team traveled to Marshall last Friday night to battle the defending league champion Red Hawks in an early season conference match-up. Marshall jumped out to a big first half lead and hung on in the end to defeat Pennfield 66-61.

The Panthers were led in scoring by Ronald Jamierson’s 25 points.  He was followed in double figures by Deveaire Todd with 14 points.  Larz Smith led the Pennfield rebounding efforts with 7.  The varsity team’s overall record now stands at 1-2 and they are 0-2 in the Interstate 8.

They will return to action on Tuesday December 20th when they host Homer High School for a boy’s basketball doubleheader.  The JV contest will begin at 5:30pm and the varsity game will tip off at approximately 7:00pm.
